POLES APART ... thats how we literally started. He was living in California while I have been leading a sheltered life here in the Philippines. He is the military man who is very organized and punctual. He loves to clean and maintain a very orderly home, starting from the way he stacks his coins, folds his clothes and places them in rows; and how he keeps and stores food in the refrigerator (he places paper towel on each level just in case something spills). While I may not be meticulous in that manner, like in making sure no ants or roaches are crawling inside the house (coz he would always spray insecticide ... should we say prophylactically ... so you will not see even a single insect inside) ... but I also love to maintain a clean and presentable home. (I guess washing the dishes is my other specialty second to Cardiology). I never said this to him but I just love the way he treats and takes care of MY DAD. In his own unassuming way he continues to show me how children should treat their parents- with utmost care, love and respect . But when it comes to emotions, I am very transparent, sensitive, emotional and even childish to the extreme, while he keep his emotions most of the time to himself, maybe being the military man that he was. I love to provoke and argue with him but he always just keeps his silence. (and his cool?) But despite some differences ... love always prevail. To quote him ... "I WILL STILL MARRY YOU DESPITE OUR DIFFERENCES BECAUSE WE KNOW DEEP IN OUR HEARTS WE LOVE EACH OTHER ... " - AND I STRONGLY AGREE!!!
